LTE: Supports I-185
I’d like to present a thought on the I-185 issue.
Montanans Against Tax Hikes has launched an aggressive campaign to defeat I-185. This group is almost entirely funded by the lobbying arms of the large corporations that bring us Camel and Marlboro cigarettes, so it’s no wonder that they oppose the initiative. I-185 could take a bite out of their profits, and they can’t have that. They’d rather have people dying of various cancers, emphysema, COPD and a host of other diseases. That’s who opposes I-185.
Here’s a partial list of the 70+ organizations (mostly healthcare related) that are supporting I-185:
– Southwest Montana Community Health Center
– St. James Hospital
– Silver Bow County Medical Society
– St. Peter’s Hospital
– St. Vincent Healthcare
– Bozeman Health
– Kalispell Regional Medical Center
– Montana Hospital Association
– Montana Primary Care Association
– American Cancer Society
– American Heart Association/American Stroke Association
– American Lung Association
So before you vote against I-185, do some research and then ask yourself, “Which of these groups has the best interest of me, my family and my community at heart?”
